"In October 2021, I participated in my first Bufo sacred medicine ceremony. My decision did not come easy! This was really far off my radar—until I started noticing the Universe placing information in front of me about sacred medicines. I became very curious and started researching it and was invited by a close friend to join in a Bufo ceremony with her. I was freakjn scared out of my mind. "Sitting with this medicine completely changed my perspective on life, and what I'm doing with my time on Earth. While I had an open mind going into it, my experience was unlike the reality we all know - I went someplace else that is almost impossible to describe, but I felt 100% connected and loved. When I came back to reality, I wasn't sure what to think or how to begin to process it, and I was just baffled. "My experience sitting with the medicine- let me first tell you a little bit about me. I am a believer of God our creator, I come from humble beginnings. I would be what most people call or consider a conservative Christian woman. So some people were very surprised that I would sit with this medicine.
I have always had an open mind and growing up everybody called me the free spirit and old soul. I always felt I didn't belong here and that something was missing inside of me that I longed for for many years. For as long as I can remember I have always prayed to God, please allow me to be a vessel for him to do his work here on earth. This was the only way I felt I belonged. My prayers and communion building this intimate relationship with Creator I felt was my safe place. And through prayer, led me to this powerful medicine.
I was not scared to sit with the medicine, even though others before ceremony told me how scared they were. I never did Google or YouTube ceremonies, prior to my experience. I knew too much discovery was not going to help me in any way shape or form and I wanted to go in to this as my own experience without anybody else's experience tainting what mine was supposed to be like.
So many people take this medicine too seriously. They amp themselves up and get scared before they even give it a chance to let it work through them. So they already have judged the medicine. Bufo can hold you in a way that you have never been held before. So if this is your first time hearing about this medicine, don't let others paint the picture for you; let the medicine guide you. Bufo has shown me how others see me. I was able to finally take down the walls that I had built around my heart to protect myself due to childhood trauma. I was able to finally feel 'Home'.
